We need to stomp these guys tonight.
Sure, we pulled off the win on Wednesday, but we looked terrible throughout most of that game. Like I said before, you could even here the frustration in Ken and Mick's voices just calling the game. There were times that I wanted to to turn that friggin' game off, but refrained because...well...because we were playing the Blue Jackets.
Rick Nash is going to play tonight...I just know it. It's fan appreciation night for the BJ's, and it's the last game of the season. No way their captain sits this one out.
That means that if we come out and play like we did for 75% of Wednesday's game, we will lose. And in doing so, we will make it that harder on ourselves to attain the #5 seed so we don't have to travel all the way out to freakin' Vancouver. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to smack Burrows right in his mouth in the first round. But like I told NOHS reader, Sprout in the earlier post...you always want the highest seed possible.
So it's skate to throat tonight, Detroit. Skate to throat. When you are facing a team that's already down and out, you just have to...
...give that b*tch a kick.
Treat tonight like a play-off game. I want to see hunger. I want to see desperation. It's not easy to adjust the throttle, and it needs to be pressed all the way to the metal. The play-offs are coming...but tonight, play like they're already here.
