Red Wings got shutout by an AHL goalie and barely even made him work. His best save of the night involved him bracing himself and turning away from a shot. Shutout by that guy. I’m not even going to look up his name as he’ll never again do anything worthwhile as long as he lives.
More after the jump:
Not much to say other than the entire team played poorly. Considering the Wings roster is pretty much stuck as is, I have to wonder if Babcock’s days are numbered since a coaching change is about the only move the Wings could make. Don’t ask me who would replace him, though. I’m just typing out loud here.
DeKeyser got hurt early in the first and it didn’t look good. I don’t know how long he’ll be out yet.
Next game is Thursday against the Hurricanes. Detroit will turn it around eventually. Let’s hope it’s soon.
Coaching has nothing to do with a lack of puck moving defenseman, Dekeyser going down is going to hurt. Quincey is a stage on good days, was never a big fan of the the return of Sammy, too brittle. I love the character and grit that Alfie brings but again is an old body, Clearly has been bad for two years big time heart and soul player/nice guy bug I want to win hurt feelings or not
If the playoffs started today, Wings would be in the playoffs. 1 point up on Montreal, 5 up on Ottawa and the 4th place teams in the Metro. The current collection of players (as constructed and playing as they are now) isn't going to do anything in the playoffs, but what does switching coaches really accomplish? They need to do a better job of carrying the puck into the zone and setting up once there. Defensively, the main issue is that they're spending too much time in that particular zone. They could really use some young quick players….like….Tomas….Tatar…..and…….Gustav……Nyquist……umm…..hmm.
have heard the murmers of coaching change from other fans as well. Much as you said though ... Who do you replace him with? Not a lot of good options out there unless you do as Caps, Avs, and Flyers did and bring in a former player.
