The Red Wings season would have started this Friday, but as you all know, we've been locked out and there's nothing we can do about it.
Or is there?
Last year the NBA simulated its season up to the end of their lockout. They kept track of standings and stats and I believe they wrote a little bit about each game. Well, I'm stealing their idea. They owe us for Bettman.
I'll be simulating every Red Wings game that has been canceled on EA Sports NHL 13 and writing about the outcome as if it actually happened. I plan on putting in quotes from the digital coaching staff based on what I believe their personalities are like. The series will be called 'Lockout Therapy.' Hey, it's something...
The rosters are all set. The digital players are ready to digitally dominate. Digital Ericsson is ready to digitally screw up. Digital Datsyuk will digitally dangle downloaded defenders daily.
I know, I know, it's not the same. It's like having a caffeine headache and finding a flat bottle of Diet Mountain Dew in the fridge. It's not what we wanted, but it'll have to do for now.
See you Friday!
If anyone is interested in streaming Griffins game, here is a link:
man, i wouldn't even know where to begin with that. took me an hour to figure out how to add a picture to my post...
This is a great idea... Even if it is stolen I'm giving you the credit. Can you send hate tweets out during the simulation? That would be the icing on the cake.
@D.M.N haha, that would be fun, but it goes by so fast i don't think i could pull it off.
@Twig what? I haven't played hockey video games in forever but I thought I remember NHL '97 on the computer you could have both teams controlled by the CPU player and just watch the game? They've taken that away? Huh... Glad I got out when I did I suppose...
Are you going to post your line's before the season starts? To add to that, do you have Smith/Nyquist/Brunner in said line-up?
@JOHNxJOHN Digital Datsyuk will digitally dangle downloaded defenders daily. This is the reason that we brought you on Twig. Nice work man.
