Helm Re-Signed for 4 More Years
Our blog name will make sense for another 4 years, at least. Not that it was ever really in doubt. The contract is worth $8.5 million and carries a cap hit of just over $2 million. The deal was announced on Twitter by Darren Dreger.

But basically I think it's the perfect contract and am 100% satisfied with it. Anyone who isn't is a bad person and should feel bad for having a bad opinion.

I fully expect Helm to get the A this year and then the C once Zetterberg is done winning a few cups wearing it
@Jordan_Reis I don't see this happening. If Helm gets an A then it will be like Draper. Datsyuk and Kronner both get A's this year. I don't think they will have 3 A's again like they have been at some points.
Small potatoes really. I'm a big fan but this was expected and I'm happy with the cap hit. Now, bring on the big boys...
Yay Helm!! I never really put any thought about what NOHS would be called if the Namesake hadn't returned. I never really doubted him staying though.

Good deal. I actually believe its higher than most other teams would have paid but none understand Helm's potential like we do. If he were 50% on breakaways he would score 30 goals a year.
@magnum9 Once Helm learns to finish well he will be lethal threat against any team. Pav needs to have a little one on one training session.

No, it won't happen. But I'm not gonna let my admiration for Helmer get in the way of the fact that he doesn't finish enough. If he works real hard on the hands he could be looking at a BIG raise for the next 4 years.
good deal for both sides. When Chris Stewart gets 3 million for 30 points, you can't complain about Helm getting 2.25 for 26 points and SO much more.
