It appears our day is over and the Wings pretty much stood pat.

However, just as I sort of feared, each of our opposition tuned up for the playoffs. Nashville especially.
Let's take a look at what each of our enemies got, after the break:
Nashville: Not only did they pick up Andrei Kostitsyn, but they also picked up the guy that many Detroit fans wanted: Gaustad.
The Sabres have acquired a first-round pick from Nashville in exchange for Paul Gaustad and a fourth-round pick, according to @TSNBobMcKenzie
Chicago: Little brother didn't do crap for their piss poor goaltending, but they did address some defensive weakness, picking up Johnny Oduya for a 2nd and 3rd round pick. Again, focusing on short term. I thought that was a lot to give up for a decent at best player.
San Jose: Those divers out in California picked up Daniel Winnik and T.J. Galiardi from Colorado for McGinn and Mike Connelly and Michael Sgarbossa (via Dater's tweet.) Seems to be a fairly minor trade of a lot of 3rd and 4th liners.
Vancouver: The punks up in B.C. picked up another player Detroit wanted, Sammy Pahlsson for two fourth round picks. Again, not groundbreaking, but a good team just got a little better.
Now Detroit got a little better on the backend, but I sorta wish that Detroit didn't drop Commie. I liked what he brought and thought he was a perfect fit as a #6 guy. In addition, we essentially have added Smith as well. We've got firepower on the back end, there's no question about that.
Still, every team, other than Nashville improved marginally. Nashville is now a contender. It's going to be interesting.
Anyways, what are you thoughts? Remember, in Ken Holland we trust.
