"Talk To Me Goose" - Nyquist In

Written by Chris on .

Helm is gone and we are sad.

Luckly we have a Swedish phenom that is ready to take his place.

"I'm going to put Gus in," Babcock said. "We're not filling (Helm's role). It's like all important players you miss. You don't fill their role. You get someone else to do what they do.

"We'd like our bottom six to play more so ideally the game will be that way tomorrow (so) we can do that."

Nyquist will not be jumping in on the fourth line, but rather to the third with Abdelkader in the middle and Cleary on the Wing.   I think that's a good recongization of Nyquist's skills (though possibly an overapproximation of Abdelkader's).

Tonight's lines after the jump.

Valterri Filppula-Henrik Zetterberg-Jiri Hudler
Johan Franzen-Pavel Datsyuk-Todd Bertuzzi
Nyquist-Justin Abdelkader-Danny Cleary
Miller-Cory Emmerton-Tomas Holmstrom

Nicklas Lidstrom-Jonathan Ericsson
Niklas Kronwall-Brad Stuart
Kyle Quincey-Ian White

Jimmy Howard
Ty Conklin

Extra players: Chris Conner, Jan Mursak, Riley Sheahan, Jakub Kindl

I wish we saw Conner on line four, but we can't always get what we want right?

Still, you can't forget that Detroit dominated a good portion of game one without Helm, I expect that they will do the same tonight.

Do it for Z's helmet.

(Credit Reddit's keleron, I couldn't help but laugh.)

Gonna get this one tonight- I can feel it. I'd like to see Emmerton sit with Abby in the pivot of Line 4 (Miller up to 3). Let's hope we get retribution on the scoreboard and on Weber without getting any suspensions ourselves!

I'm still pissed and angry about the whole situation; but that picture makes my stomach turn sour. Here's why...Bertuzzi has worked so hard over the lst 8 years to prove that's not who he is... it haunts him everywhere he goes, and most of us (most people here included from what I've read) defend the player and person he is now. I get livid every single freaking time someone drags Bertuzzi into something he has nothing to do with, and the aftermath of Wednesday's game is no different. I'm not overly sensitive, and I like things in good fun.. but in my opinion this is exactly what gives fire to the Bertuzzi haters out there and does an injustice to Bertuzzi himself and his character. I usually like what I read on your site and appreciate the work you guys do; but I'm really disappointed and ashamed of that picture. I'm sure you were expecting some response like this, but I wanted to say it anyway.

@slapshotgoal I think on things like this, you just gotta laugh.  It is kinda funny if you think about it...sure it makes you a bad person but come on, that's the kinda stuff that makes me laugh.   It's clearly not to be taking seriously. You show me a politically correct joke and I'll show you a joke that isn't funny.

@moorecha I'm all about laughing at things while people tell me I'm going to hell for laughing; since I'm often that person.  But for me, that picture crossed the line.

@moorecha I'll definitely keep reading and enjoying the content. No malice intended, just voicing my opinion.

@slapshotgoal Fair enough, I simply disagree.  We'll keep it at that and hope you still will read us!
