The Detroit Red Wings recalled goaltender Joey MacDonald today from the Grand Rapids Griffins because Jimmy Howard is with his wife, Rachel, who is in the hospital after delivering the couple's first child, a boy.
If I was Jim, I'd name him 'Jimmy I'm-Screwing-Twig's-Fantasy-Team Howard Jr.' I'm kidding! Congratulations to them.
This means Conklin will be in net against a desperate team who was just embarrassed by Ottawa. On the other hand, the Jackets will be trying to score on a goalie who is desperate to save face. In other words, no idea what's going to happen.
