Gustav Nyquist has been recalled to take his place on the roster.

Nyquist has played in one game this season for Detroit while they were in their slump. It will be interesting to see what he can do while the team is playing more sound hockey. He currently leads the Griffins in scoring with 30 points in 30 games (9 G, 21 A)

Also of note, his family just arrived in Grand Rapids to see him play, they will now get an even better treat heading to Chicago to see him play with the Wings

As much as I like Nyquist let's hope Helm heals up quick. It's too bad, I was hoping to see Helm school the Hawks again with his one-man PK. This is going to be a tough game especially with the inexperienced Andersson and Nyquist in the mix

Damn!! What a bummer. I just got a shiny new Helm sweater for Christmas too. I'm still going to wear it to the NYE game though.

Heal fast, Helm! You too, Eaves!

This I don't like.

Damn, stoked to see Nyquist but I really wish it wasn't with Andersson. Nothing against him but would rather have one inexperienced player at once against teams like Chicago.

Yeah that sucks about Helm. Excited to see Nyquist play again, but I was hoping that we would take a penalty or two on purpose just so Helm can go off again. We play them 2 more times over the next 6 games, so we'll just have to wait till then I guess.
