In the locker room after the game last night:
B-May: War's over, man. we dropped the big one.
Holmstrom: Over? Did you say "over"? For sure, nothing over until we decide it is! Was it over when Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Lidstrom: Forget it, he's rolling.
Holmstrom: And it ain't over now, for sure. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough... the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go! What the @#$% happened to the Wings I used to know? Where spirit? Where guts, huh? For sure this could be greatest series of lives, but you're gonna let it be worst. "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Holmer, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my kevlar padded ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Marleau, he's a dead man! Thornton, dead! Pavelski...
Zetterberg: Dead! Holmer's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.
Holmstrom: We're just the guys to do it...for sure
B-May: Let's do it.
Holmstrom: *LET'S DO IT*!
Come on, people...winning four in a row against San Jose? We should have won three in a row already. If the Sharks can pull off three consecutive wins, then why can't Detroit?
We can take tomorrow night at the Joe.
We can ride that momentum into the weekend.
We can take care of business at home again.
And then Game 7's are as unpredictable as anything.
We just have to get there. As much as I hate Larry Muprhy sometimes, he's absolutely right when he says that you just have to take it one shift at a time. Last night's third period will be the LAST brain fart of this season for Detroit. I know you're angry...I am too. We all know the Red Wings are angry. Down, but not out...not this team...not yet.
One game at a time.
