This from the National Post:
Well...it's looking like Hossa will be playing tonight for the Blackhawks as they take on the San Jose Sharks. So who do you root for in this one? Me...I'm cheering for...injuries.
I hate Chicago, and I don't much care for San Jose.
For those of you who still cling to the whole "Detroit shouldn't hate Marian Hossa" notion...let me go over this again.
Hossa is traded from Atlanta to Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh falls in love with Hossa. Hossa makes them believe that the feeling is mutual.
Hossa almost makes Game 6 in 2008 go into OT and who knows what would've happened as a result.
Hossa jumps Pittsburgh's ship and comes to Detroit (at a reasonable price...but does anyone think he was worth more than Lidstrom?) because he says they give him the best chance of winning the Cup.
Hossa has a decent regular season with Detroit. Detroit falls in love with Hossa. Hossa makes them believe that the feeling is mutual.
Hossa disappears in the play-offs for all but about 3 games (0 goals in 7 games of Stanley Cup Finals).
Hossa jumps Detroit's ship and goes to their biggest rival, the Chicago Blackhawks because he says they give him the best chance of winning the Cup.
Are we detecting a pattern here? My guess the next step would be something along the lines of "Chicago falls in love with Hossa" (they pretty much have done this already). Only difference is that he signed a contraversial 12 year deal to stay in the Windy City with our little brothers. Didn't want it in Pittsburgh, didn't want it in Detroit, he wanted it in Chicago.
So allow me to say this again: screw you, Hossa. When Kronwall comes back, I hope he knocks that repaired shoulder right out of place. But that's just me.
