Fippula's Cast Comes Off

Good news from the Free Press...

Valtteri Filppula had the cast removed from his broken right wrist Monday and skated after the Detroit Red Wings practiced today at Joe Louis Arena.  Filppula wore a splint but said it was just a precaution and that he won't normally wear it. He said he remains on schedule to return later this month.
