Banged-Up Wings Face Banged-Up Oilers
We all know about how banged up the Red Wings are. And most of us aren't so narrow minded that we think we're the only team. This
seasons rash of injuries has also hit the Edmonton Oilers pretty hard as well:
Fernando Pisani: Colitus...out indefinately
Dennis Grebeshkov: Knee...out indefinately
Marc Pouliot: Sports Hernia...out 2-3 weeks
Mike Comrie: Mononucleosis...out indefinately
Nikolai Khabibulin: Back...out indefinately
Taylor Chorney: Ankle...day-today
Ales Hemsky: Shoulder...out 5-6 months
Shawn Horcoff: Shoulder...day-to-day
And not only are they banged up physically, but it seems like they're a little banged up mentally as well. This from the Edmonton Sun:
"We've been losing too much lately"--Robert Nilsson
"He's fighting himself. He's a young man who doesn't feel good about how he played. Clearly he has a conscience because he wanted to take all of the blame (for the 7-3 loss in Vancouver in which he gave up four goals on 11 shots)". --Pat Quinn on Jeff Deslauriers, who has taken the reigns from the broken 'Bulin Wall'
Four goals on eleven shots? If he plays that way tonight and Detroit fires 40 at him, we could see an almost 15 goal explosion for the Wings...
